Tarot School Foundations I Course

Join Suzy & Alana of Psychic Siamese Tarot this Fall for our fourth session of Tarot School in Astoria, Oregon. If you are seeking in-person tarot mentorship and to step up your ‘tarot expertise’, this may be the class for you. This four hour class is the first half of a two-part series which focuses on the Major Arcana and the essential tools for going in depth with your personal tarot practice.

We will first dive deep into the history and origins of the cards; summoning the original tarot symbolism and discarding the modern myths. As we move through the curriculum you will also learn how to develop appropriate questions, tap into the unseen energies, and how to intuitively read tarot for yourself.  The day will combine in-depth instruction, hands-on practical application, one-on-one mentoring, and opportunities for working with your own deck. Our goal is to give you the tools to work confidently with the tarot, and empower you to tap into your own highest wisdom and creativity. Through this experience, you will be inspired and ready to integrate tarot fully into your life, and the results are sure to be magical!

This course is specially designed for those just getting started on their tarot journey, and also for those who would like to refresh their knowledge of the major arcana.  Our class environment is supportive, fun, creative, and grounded in research and experience. Expect to learn a lot, do a lot, and meet others who are just as passionate about tarot.

If you find yourself asking any of these questions, this may be the class for you:

  • How do I keep myself from constantly looking up the tarot meanings online or in a book?

  • I know I should trust my intuition... but how?

  • I love the idea of tarot, but where does it even come from?

  • There are so many cards, how do I remember all the meanings?

  • How am I supposed to do a reading for myself? Is that OK to do?

  • I'm never really sure how to interpret a reversal card.

  • The 'dark' cards scare me a bit. What are they trying to tell me?

  • I know the various meanings for a particular card, but now do I know which one applies?

Your Teachers

Suzy and Alana first joined forces in 2011 through a tarot and astrology business 'Psychic Siamese Tarot'. With an early passion for the occult, they have both been studying and practicing the arts of Tarot and Astrology for more than 20 years. This knowledge is at the core of their personal and professional practices.

In addition to a love for tarot, Alana holds a deep interest and reverence for Celtic and Hellenic spiritual traditions. She studies with Mara Freeman, an internationally recognized British author and teacher of Celtic wisdom and the Western Mystery Tradition. Alana is a member of The Fellowship of Isis, based in Ireland, which honors the good in all faiths and the Divine Feminine in all of Her forms. Drawing upon her experience in education, art, dance, and music, she is honored to share her knowledge with others called to the path.

Suzy is the owner of Chariot — where she has woven together her major passions in life: being a healer, a spiritual teacher and a creative. Astrology and tarot are her main tools when working with clients, but she often incorporates spell-casting and rituals as well in her services. She has studied with various astrologers and mediums over the past decade, and continues her path toward self understanding and enlightenment. In more recent years, her study has focused on metaphysical science, astrophysics, Wiccan spell-casting and Kundalini yoga. Her belief systems encompass this wide array of ancient and new age teachings, from the ancient yogi wisdom to the scientific discoveries of today. She is a Certified Tarot Professional, recognized by the Tarot Guild.

TESTIMONIALS -- What people are saying about our Tarot workshops:

My confidence has increased 100%. Having a breadth of knowledge on how and when the cards were developed has immeasurably enriched my work with Tarot. Most improved is my ability to read without constantly referencing the "meanings" and also in seeing potential in developing my personal dictionary of important symbols.

-Kate from Astoria, Oregon

I was surprised by the rich history and tradition that Tarot draws from. It felt more universal and grounded than I was aware of. Alana and Suzy made the class very approachable and fun and helped to build my confidence and skill. I appreciated their in depth understanding of the Tarot and their rich experience. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to deepen there intuition and Tarot skills.

-Jenelle from Portland, Oregon

Even though I've been reading tarot since I was a teenager, the class finally made me feel less overwhelmed by the deck as a whole; I've always felt really overwhelmed by the number of cards and the belief that I had to memorize each one perfectly. The intuition exercises made me realize that I know more about each card than I thought and that by trusting my impressions and intuition, I can 'read' the card instead of trying to recall exactly what each book I've read has said about it. For the first time, I feel like I can learn to read the cards comfortably and without referencing a book every time.
