Gemini Solar Eclipse: Embracing a new vision.

Tomorrow morning's solar eclipse in Gemini may have us feeling overstimulated with the plethora of information coming our way. In the sign of the curious twins, this mega new moon is quickly offering us new ideas, reorganization, and innovation. The ruler of this sign, Mercury, has been retrograde since May 29th. The Gemini area of our lives has been delayed or under review. Shortly after tomorrow's eclipse, this powerful retrograde Mercury will move to the center of the sun -- prompting important insights and a shift in our vision for the future.

When I first sat down to explore what I wanted to say about this eclipse, I had many ideas flying around my head. It felt difficult to navigate exactly what point I wanted to make. What is the story this eclipse wants to tell? I took a moment to meditate, pull some cards and journal. The more quiet I got, it all became suddenly clear. I tell this little story, because I feel it mirrors the energy of this time. With so much new activity and information coming our way, it can be difficult to hear our inner truth. I hope as you read this newsletter that it offers you some clarity and tools for your own personal reflection during this eclipse cycle.

In general, with any eclipse, it is not a fortunate time for manifestation. This does not mean, however, that the eclipse cycles are to be ignored or are not useful. Eclipses, like the 'Wheel of Fortune' tarot card, act as the karmic spinning wheels of the cosmos. Past events will bring about a crisis situation or an unforeseen blessed opportunity.

Our job isn't to ask the universe for anything from an eclipse, but to reflect and respond to what is revealed to us.

With a solar eclipse, the dark moon blots out the blazing sun. Our source of energy, spirit and purpose is suddenly turned off and then brought to life again. I often think of it like rebooting your computer by turning it completely off and on again. There is a necessary 'shutting down' in order to bring new life. Eclipses will close doors but always open new ones.

My personal approach to an eclipse is to view it as a time of reverence and reckoning. Pay attention to what is coming up and give yourself time to process. Instead of manifesting our biggest dreams, we are trusting in the unfolding wisdom of the universe.

With Jupiter at home in Pisces, we are in a time of transitioning to some kind of new stability. The past year has brought so much global turmoil and upheaval, and we are only beginning to see the outcomes. More than anything, I see this eclipse illuminating what structures we have outgrown collectively and personally. At this juncture, we must ask ourselves what ways of life we will resume and what will we leave behind? As many people have stated before me, just returning to 'normal' is likely not what we truly desire. If this past year hasn't changed your viewpoint on life in a multitude of ways, I'd be very surprised!

In the eclipse tarot reading I did today, I clearly saw the unfulfilling structures which are labeled as safe and stable. This undeniably includes patriarchal and capitalistic structures in our society. It appears it would be easy for us to fall back into tired, worn out traditions in order to reach for something that feels stable. These structures, whatever they may be, keep us from evolving.

We each tell ourselves a story of what defines success, and the narrative is changing.

This is an opportune time to give yourself time and space to reflect on what wisdom and clarity has been brought to you by the events of this past year. What has initiated more fulfillment and meaning? For many, they have found happiness in having more autonomy in their work or more time to spend with their family. They do not wish to return to the corporate office setting or their previous field of work. On June 14th, Uranus in Taurus makes another square to Saturn in Aquarius. Our values around work and freedom are shifting, and many do not wish to return to the ways of the old. We are waking up to the fact that our lives are worth more than a steady paycheck, and the minimum wage crisis is real.

Gemini is the divine story-teller, and the story we tell ourselves is shifting. We may realize what we once hoped for is not actually what we truly desire. What we thought would be fulfilling is not actually all that important. This may not be a time for bold action, but I do foresee many folks finding an inner clarity or personal truth. As old patterns reappear, and we may finally be able to see how we get in our own way. Old wounds are brought to the surface to be healed in order to clear space for new vibrant energy. As the new 'story' develops we unlearn the old narrative.

Tonight, and in the coming weeks, I would suggest giving yourself time to reflect on these questions:

1. What is something positive that has emerged this past year that I would like to hold onto?

2. How has my ideal vision for the future changed from a year ago?

3. What old structures are no longer serving me?

4. How has my vision of success evolved in the past year or six months?

Gemini is the Mercurial air sign, and we may be tempted to move with speed towards a new vision. If you are feeling very anxious and worrisome at this time, remember to stop and breath. Take a break from social media and the news. Some situations will call for bold action, but I would suggest taking your time if possible. To weave a new story that brings long term success takes time and does not need to be rushed.
