The Pisces New Moon: A dream is re-born.

As I write this newsletter, it is a misty morning in Astoria. The ambiance is utterly Pisces, as the town is enveloped in a ocean filled wet cloud and we return indoors for hot tea and warm blankets. This is a radical shift from the bright sun rays brought by the Leo full moon these past couple weeks. The sun was a welcome break from this arduous winter, but I certainly welcome all the cozy feels of a misty morning.

Tomorrow morning, the new moon arrives on February 23rd at 7:32AM PT. This new moon joins Neptune in Pisces, giving this new lunar cycle a dreamy ethereal quality. A vision may come forth for what 'could be', and the possibilities seem more 'open'. We may not have all the answers, but we can trust our intuition to guide us forward one step at a time.

A retrograde Mercury is traveling towards this new moon, and is under the beams of the sun. This is a time to gather our thoughts and sort through our deepest feelings. The sign of Pisces is an emotional landscape that is constantly in flux and without boundaries. (Think of the ever changing tides of the Ocean.) Recently, we may have felt confused about what direction to take on a certain matter. The facts or truth about a situation were not available to us. Or an opportunity was not yet presented. As we approach this coming week, however, we may feel more clear and deeply inspired about our potential future.

On February 25th, Mercury will be Cazimi the sun. This is a moment of clarity. A turning point. The Piscean 'mists' will part for a moment and show us a way forward. Pay attention to what comes up at this time.

The new moon sextiles an exalted Mars in Capricorn and an inspirational Uranus. This tells me that if we work steadily towards our dreams and goals, then the opportunities will come. And if one door closes, another will surely open. All we need is faith, our dreams and our perseverance.

A Capricorn Jupiter rules this new moon, indicating that our dreams are not the fleeting kind. We are desiring something substantial and long lasting. Something to last a lifetime, or at least a decade or two. This dream could be to own a house, to have a marriage partner, to make a baby, or to start a business. At the time of the new moon, I suggest taking some time to consider what are your long lasting goals or dreams?

Mercury will remain retrograde until March 9th -- the day of the Virgo full moon. As with any mercury retrograde period, we must expect a mishap or two. In the sign of mutable and watery Pisces, we are called to be more 'flexible'. Stay focused on your mission, but allow yourself to 'go with the flow' as well. I see this retrograde period as a great time to finish up past projects and wrap up loose ends. Big things are coming, and you'll want to have all the old stuff taken care of!

Mercury will station direct in the sign of Aquarius, and will likely give us another moment of clarity. Until then, enjoy the meandering ride of Pisces season and get dreamy.
